ABOUT
The Indian Army is the land-based branch of the Indian Armed Forces. It is the largest of the three-armed forces of India, the other two being the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force.
The primary mission of the Indian Army is to defend the nation from external aggression as well as internal threats. It ensures national security and maintains peace within the borders1. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and its professional head is the Chief of Army Staff (COAS)2. The Indian Army has a strength of over 1.4 million active personnel and 2.1 million reserve personnel3. The Indian Army has been involved in several conflicts and peacekeeping missions, including the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947, the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the Kargil.
JOINING INDIAN ARMY
For joining any military, a person should have age between mid 17 to age limits according to the service or specific category.
There are many exams for joining the forces. The most popular is NDA (National Defense Academy) by which one can directly get higher post.
